A Poem for When this is All Over
Laughing.
Dancing.
Goofy jokes.
We’re safe to giggle
To poke fun.
Crying is fine too
There’s lots to mourn
But nobody mourns alone.
Fireside chats
With smoking pipes
Charcuterie board piled high.
We share war stories
But they’re in the past,
Firmly in the past
Where they belong.
